Bo Williams (gringoleiro)
As a former paperboy, grass cutter, lifeguard,
hamburger chef, janitor, bartender, engineer, submarine driver,
and general manager, I have made a living in several different
and rewarding ways...but never in a way that I truly loved...until
Wave3.
We are the sum of all of our thoughts, experiences,
and dreams. At times, we aren't really sure why we are passing
through a certain experience, but if our attitude is right,
we can always get something positive out of it to help us achieve
our true potential. So it has been in my life.
I never enjoyed delivering papers, cutting grass,
or cleaning toilets when I was growing up, but those were great
experiences for a young boy to understand the value of a dollar
and how to be humble. Waiting tables and bartending were fun
at times, and the best lesson I got from them was how to respect
and serve everyone, not to mention the cash to pay for college.
I never wanted to be an engineer, but I studied it because I
considered it a safe career. It wound up giving me the ability
to think logically and solve complex problems. I entered the
Navy to join an elite group, to escape from bartending, and
to pay for the rest of my education. Becoming an officer on
a nuclear submarine was probably the toughest challenge and
greatest professional growth experience of my life. I learned
the true meaning of discipline, expanded my engineering knowledge,
learned to lead, make quick decisions, read charts and indicators,
develop a tough mental attitude, deal with heavy stress, and
a whole lot of classified stuff that I can't talk about. Then
came the industrial robotics industry. That was really fun and
interesting too, and I implemented several of my Naval leadership,
quality, and management programs and built quite a strong team
during those explosive growth years. Finally, I volunteered
to expand our automation business in South American, and came
to Brazil in 1997.
My friends and customers said that they had never
seen a "gringo" adapt so quickly to the Brazilian
lifestyle, as if I had been a "brasileiro" in a past
life...and the nickname "gringoleiro" was born. Learning
a new language from scratch was tough, but learning to do business
in Brazil was a real eye opener, not to mention the fantastic
cultural benefits. Then the Russian crisis hit, followed by
the Asian crisis, then the Brazilian Real crashed, followed
by the collapse of Argentina. For the first time in my life,
I failed miserably at my professional goals, and in May 2001,
I was "downsized". It was time for a change anyway,
and everyone knew it. I was not performing nor was I happy,
but I was too scared to leave the steady paycheck. It took being
dismissed to open up a new life for me. Pity or opportunity?
So I took it as an opportunity to grow. My baby
daughter had just been born, and I was turning 40, so why not
change my direction completely and do something that really
interested me? Why not appreciate more my most precious asset
...my time? Hadn't I always been successful at whatever I tried?
I didn't even look for another job, and I started right away
to trade stocks for a living. Well, trading is a misnomer. I
should say "giving my money away".
The first year was a disaster, and so I quit and
dove into the web to try and understand how the successful traders
do it. After a great deal of time and pain, I've created a very
successful system, PhiCube BTL, and results have been excellent.
I've had a lot of help along the way, and this
website is designed to "pay it forward". There is
no guarantee that my system will work for you, as your mental
state is the real key to your success, but I think my system
will help you understand the basics of trading and perhaps spawn
some new ideas.
During this new experience, I've learned that
I love this stuff, and I'm really good at it...and it's really
uncanny how all of the things I learned in the past attribute
to my success as a trader, particularly a highly positive attitude,
a disciplined mind, a skilled analytical perspective, the ability
to deal with stress, strong faith in myself, and the love of
family and friends.
Thanks Mom, Dad, Sheila, Mia, Alyssa...and especially
to Tetê and Ana Sophia. Thanks also to the rest of my extended
family and all the friends in my heart.
I hope you benefit from our site, and I wish you
a long, happy, and successful life and trading career. Take
this thought with you...trading success is not about money,
it's about maintaining a positive attitude...and a positive
attitude is the key to happiness in general.
Grande abraço,
Bo

Gustavo Villaça (gusoros)
My name is Gustavo Guerra Villaça. I was born
in São Paulo, but was raised in the country, in a city called
Bragança Paulista, a more tranquil place to grow up! I had the
opportunity to finish my high school in the United States, being
an exchange student in Aurora, Colorado. I came back to São
Paulo to go to college in 1996, and I have been living here
since then. Despite almost always being busy at work, or doing
something to improve my professional knowledge, São Paulo is
a place where I have met and keep meeting a lot of wonderful
people, and has become a part of my life.
My parents always motivated me to practice sports,
and that helped me a lot in terms of relationships. Professional
and personal life, like sports, involves a lot of teamwork to
get the best results (and pushing yourself to the limit also).
In professional life, and even if in personal life, teamwork
and dedication is required more then ever.
I like to travel and get to know different places
and people, and enjoy being challenged with new projects and
work, especially when I believe that it will make me a more
completed and happy person, and will also bring me more value
in my professional and personal life in long term.
Some day I would like to help the next with charitable
work, especially in Brasil, my country that I love a lot, but
which stills need help in the Education and Health areas, which
I think are essentials for a better, honest, and fair future.
I am learning more than a lot here in Wave3. In
the last 2 years, I have learned enough to know that we will
have a successful future ahead, and it has been enough to make
me believe that it was worth to be with it, dedicated, and invested
in this project. I am sure that it will bring me the future
I want and will help me grow.
I would like to thank my dad Marcio, mom Sonia,
my brothers Thomás, Ricardo, Marquinhos, and my sister Larissa
for always be there when I needed the most, always cheering
me up, challenging me, and giving me strength in every step
I take in my life. Thanks also for the opportunities you gave
me. You guys gave me the best in terms of education, which molded
my character and personality. I will continue working on it
to become even better!
Also, I know that I can count with my uncles,
ants, and cousins. I am very happy to know that I have a very
tight family, which always hopes the best for each other. This
is rare and it has a huge value in my life.
I would like to thank my friends, who are always
with me when I need them, even knowing that it’s been a long
time without seeing some of them! You are part of my personality,
because the times we spent together and the moments of happiness
that still have to come is kept in a special place inside of
me.
Finally I would like to recognize and thank Bo
Williams. A person with unique characteristics, simple in his
way of life, but with extreme intelligence and dedication in
everything he does. Bo is my teacher in the financial world,
and as time passes, he has also become a true friend and partner...a
person that helps me a lot in my professional and personal life...a
person that is teaching me to think and see things in longer
terms, always in the right way, within the right trend!!!
I dedicate my future professional conquests, efforts,
and learning skills to you Bo, my professor, friend, partner,
and my mentor.
I hope that this site brings important values
to you, because it is a result of our efforts, patience, and
dedication.
Valeu!!!
